I am sorry you guys over the pond have so much trouble with this company as here. My husband died a year ago and since then Ive been fighting to receive his life insurance. AIG have been told to pay me (British law) but for some reason, they obviously think they are 'above' the law. My kids have lost their Dad and I, my amazing husband - AIG have so far spent a very long time making a terrible situation worse. They should not be allowed to operate as an 'insurance' company. Everything is currently in the hands of my lawyer. Why is fighting for justice so hard? The last thing you have any energy to do on top of grieving.

If you can't get AIG to pay your life insurance claim get in touch with the center for life insurance disputes in the US. They help people like you with life insurance claims that are being delayed or that have been denied.

Buy LOCAL Representatives are terrible

I have called numerous times over the years to re-evaluate the policy and each time I've requested a copy of the policy. I have never received one. Today I've been transferred 5 times, I've had to call my husband to get his permission time and time again. After 1 hour and 50 minutes on the phone I'm still on hold. I'm so pissed that if I hadn't been paying on this for 5 years, I'd tell them to stick their insurance. Plus their on hold music is so annoying. I'm a non violent person, but this makes me want to reach through my phone a slap the next person who says "Yes, I understand" when clearly they are an ***. The last agent suggested I get my information on-line. Why do I get every person who has learned English as an adult to be my representative????? Their English is not the same! UGH

Lost Check

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
My mother passed away in September and the commentary did not take insurance. I borrowed money off a credit card and took from my savings with the expectation that I would receive a payout and pay the debts off. Silly me. This has been a complete fiasco. AIG paid the funeral home and the other beneficiary. They sent my payment to a wrong address and after four calls they finally realized they left off part of my address. I was then told a new check would be processed in 36 hours. What they did was send a lost check affidavit that at my expenses I had to pay a notary to complete and us my postage to mail. I asked for the new check to be sent overnight. Silly me. They have to send this to a team of "analyst" to determine if my request is warranted. I have gotten nothing but the big "blow off" from these people. Their customer service, or lack thereof,is subpar at best. If has been eight weeks and I am still awaiting a replacement check.

Did you receive balance amount from AIG for your deceased husband's policy?

I am concerned as I have this same insurance policy.

Guest

Omg. I have been having a problem since last sept.

After years of making monthly payments the have lost my payments since sept. Every time I call I get different answers.

Finally I was told they found all my payments but oh no...today I'm told they only found 2 of them. Grrrrrr.

This is what happens when you buy insurance from someone other than a local agent. What does the salary of the CEO have to do with anything, anyway?

Sounds like you are envious. Buy insurance from a company like State Farm, AAA, etc.

that gives you a local agent. Much better than trying to talk to a machine or someone who doesn't understand the English language.

Bobs2015 YOU are a FOOL!! Stating that the CEO earns over 80 million, but the company does NOT respond to claims properly has NOTHNG to do with Jealousy.

It has to do with unethical scammers.

Quit being a ***!! you sound like a scammer yourself to even endorse this madness.

Total Shysters

I worked as a ramp service agent at Mitchell International Airport. The job consists of loading and unloading aircraft's of their luggage. Due to the work load this past winter, I suffered a torn chest muscle for which I went to the emergency room to have checked out. After being diagnosed, I asked my employer for workman's comp for physical therapy so I could be healed and get back to work.

My company put me in touch with Robert Stark who works with AIG in Kentucky and they had me go to an urgent care facility for evaluation in order to qualify for treatment under their insurance despite two doctors previously diagnosing my condition. The doctor, Cindy B. Catania at Concentra Urgent Care, said I had developed a random inflammation from sleeping on my chest wrong, therefore my claim was denied.

Robert Stark then had me billed for this evaluation that his company mandated, as well as ignoring a second opinion of a real doctor on this issue. I'm currently having to fight them in court over this.

This whole situation has been a nightmare and I'm still without treatment for the issue and also have had to resign from my job.

AIG is putting my life at Risk

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I ordered a check from AIG on 8/25/2015 because I was moving to PR. Admittly the beginning part of the drama is my fault as I did a change of address before I received the check. I moved to Puerto Rico and used all my funds during this move. I contacted AIG on 9/4 to request a stop pay and reissue. On 9/7 I received the check in Puerto Rico, I called AIG back to ask if they can cancel the stop payment request and after almost 45 minutes of back and forth the customer service rep stated that the stop payment could not be cancelled because the request was already submitted to their accounting department so we had to wait for the reisussed check which should have gone out the next day and I should have received it by Friday 9/11. I waited until today 9/16 to contact AIG again to find out why I had not received the check yet. I was placed on hold again and then asked by the representative if I still had the check that was issued on 8/26 because that check was still valid. I then freaked out...I had a stroke 3 years ago and my husband had to quit his job at the age of 52 to take care of me as I need 24/7 care. We live off the monthly disability check we receive the 4 Monday of every month. This is the only income we receive, now I can't afford to pay for my life insurance, my prescription drugs (I take about 8 medications as day), I have only $100 in my account and AIG customer service is like well it takes time and we will expedite this as soon as possible, causing another week's delay. They don't care that I have no money, can't afford my medications and that I have no recourse to get any other money form anyone as I have borrowed all my daughter's savings to get me through the last two weeks in order for us to get the lights and water turned on in our new home and all the costs associated with the importation costs of moving items to Puerto Rico. If I get sick or lose my life insurance I will sue this company. I will also look to move the remaining funds to another company.

AIG got hold of my inf. from another agent from a different company and enrolled me without my consent, I only knew when I saw the deduction in the paystub.

Then I called, I was told to check with my payrol department. I argued that since they have my money, I have the right to know why? finally the representative said that I have a policy but it is not activated yet, I explained that I never applied with them. Then I was given the name of an agent who is supposedly my agent??

Someone used my information and my signature illegally. Nows, Since it seems like a case of fraudulent practice and I do have Identify theft protection service, I was told that the Fraud department will investigate the matter.

Why can an insurance company continue for 21 years to remove the money paid in on a life insurance policy?

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My mother died in a house fire in 89. It was a year after she died before any family members knew.

She lived a couple of states away.I tried to get info. about the ins. and death It was hard , she had gone back to her maiden name. The big problem is the insurance company verified the payments were paid up at the time of her death.

But , because the claim was not filed right away, they had to deduct money from the account to keep it active. The policy was for 5,000.00, they deducted 4944.00,turned over the 156.00 to Florida. I do not see how this is legal. This was before the internet or free long distance.

Also AIG had bought the original insurance company.

Also ,when you are told by the fire marshall that everything was burned. That makes it hard to have the paperwork.

BEWARE of AIG!!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
This company (AIG) needs to be regulated. I have watched my husband try to live with his medical injury and now our family is being tortured by a lying claims adjuster. There needs to be more regulations. The games that these adjusters play with disabled people is horrifying, and I plan on trying to make a difference. I am personally making it my life mission to try and save other families from having to go through the same thing. This woman at AIG has literally starved my family. We have had our electric turned off, and have had to run my home off a generator. It would take me hours to write the financial games this adjuster has played with us, but this needs to be stopped. BEWARE of AIG!! This company is a DISGRACE!!!!

AIG Accident Insurance Scam

Do not use. They will delay and weasel out of payment of your claim. We are going on 5 months for a meager claim with no end in sight. I have never had a more ridiculous experience with an insurance company. They have spent more than the claim value in fighting me on it. Please don't make our mistake and research your insurance company, and not take the word of your commissioned insurance agent. I would not trust any of AIG's other products with the treatment we have received on this one. AIG is a terrible company with terrible products period.

Life Insurance scam on older people.

My friends Dad paid in over $244,000.00 spanning over 19 years. He was paying $3,000.00 per quarter on a policy that would supposedly pay his son $250,000.00 upon his death. In the 20th year they bumped the price up to $9,000.00 per quarter and this is on a 92 year old man. Insane! He was overwhelmed and struggling with dementia and his wife had just died. He ended up not being able to handle the payments or he simply spaced out, no one really knows. Anyway he passed away and we found out he missed a couple of payments and now AIG says, ***, you're not getting the $250,000.00. This is criminal behavior preying on good people who are not necessarily that aware of the details when it comes to issues involving life insurance. What the *** happen to the $244,000 grand? In reading the paper work they even proposed that he pay the $9,000.00 per quarter until he reached 100 years old and then he'd be fully vested. Only thing is by then he would have paid in over $465,000.00 on a policy that pays a death benefit of $250,000.00. What's wrong with that picture? Unbelievable! Anyway, we're working on taking this to various media outlets to do a special investigation on this specific scenario. Of course, they don't care but we'll push on anyway and fully intend to stick with it to the bitter end.

They won't cancel your policy at your request. They make it look like you defaulted.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I had a small accident policy. Around $27 a month. I was signed up for new insurance so I called them the day after the auto withdrawal from my checking account to cancel. I also asked for te final payment money back since it was payment for the next coverage period. They told me if I wanted the money back, the money they were keeping for no service, I would need to fax Texas. Of course there is no paper trail of a fax, and they should have just returned my money. I let it go because at that point I realized they were thieves and I was glad to be done with them. I called a month later and confirmed that they showed my cancellation call, they did confirm but they told me that the policy would just default when the next payment was not received and that would be the end of it. No issue regarding my credit. That was on October of 2014. I just received letter telling me that I owed them $50 so since I had not paid recently my policy would be cancelled. Oh, they also stated I should call and reinstate as this could affect my ability to obtain insurance in future. So AIG must never report cancellations. And this may affect my future policy choices. How do they get away with this.

Forced me to submit personal information about domestic violence for a WARRANTY CLAIM

I am currently trying to get a payment for a washing machine via an extended warranty with these people. My ex partner and I bought the machine so the paperwork is in his name, however I was assured repeatedly throughout this process that this wouldn't matter at all.

After over a month of first being offered a pittance of what my claim was worth, I was finally offered the full amount that we paid for the machine. I then got a call from someone in Mumbai calling himself 'Nathan' stating that they cannot pay the money without proof of my relationship with the contract holder - even though I was told OVER AND OVER that this would not be a problem. I was forced to submit a VIOLENCE RESTRAINING ORDER to prove my relationship with my ex to be granted the refund. 'Nathan' asked if it was okay for my money to be paid into my current partners account as his is what I put on the paperwork, and I said that was fine.

He then called me eight hours later to say he needed MY bank details specifically! And when I tried to ask him WHY he said this wasn't a problem before, he just kept repeating and mispronouncing my name over and over again. I asked to speak to his supervisor and he REFUSED. In the end I just hung up and resubmitted the paperwork.

I tried to call AIG to check that everything was fine now . . . and they're closed!

He deliberately waited until the end of the day to do this so I wouldn't be able to get it resolved today.

His behavior was revolting and abusive, there is no justification for it and I am fully expecting him to pull another stunt. I'll be amazed if I managed to get a red cent out of these scam artists.
