American International Group - Misleading Travel Guard Flight insurance provided no coverage...

We were sold a Security bundle for the area of Israel - when war broke out shortly after our arriving, the insurance refused all coverage; now saying they don't cover any threats of war. It has been tedious and frustrating to obtain coverage but we are still fighting for what we paid for.

Im a baby boomer that loves to travel Internationally! I always purchase international travel insurance; as we all know that were not covered by Medicare once we leave the country.
On my most recent trip to Western Australia I unfortunately tore the meniscus in my knee which was extremely painful and required an emergency room visit.

No surgery was involved but I did need an ex ray and meds.
The bill came to approximately $600- my policy cost almost as much around $450.
I have submitted copies of all documents that AIG required over and over again!!!

Since March of 23! Im still waiting for it to be reviewed and a reimbursement issued for my medical expenses!
It is mid-May and Im still waiting and have heard nothing!
Shop around for travel insurance; but wouldnt buy any policies from AIG ever again!!!

I purchased the insurance for my flight in 2021, I had an unexpected emergency and filed the claim submitted the dr excuses etc. Fast fwd to today nothing has been paid out nor any communication from them. They have delayed hoping Ill forget or give up on my claim. Not a fat chance!!!

The worst repair service

I called in to have my French door refrig. repaired. Repair time until a serviceman could come : 12 DAYS !!!. This is a refrig/freezer not a washing machine. This is the second time it has happened (over a week delay) I had to call a local repair service (they came within 24 hours) and I had to pay for the part &;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; service.

DELAYS and MORE DELAYS-WARRANTY CLAIM

Have a KitchenAid smooth top that has one burner not working. Called KitchenAid extended warranty 12/28/2020. A tech was scheduled for 1/4/2021 and diagnosed the problem, however, the part is not available nationwide. Regular weekly calls (hold time in excess of 45 minutes) to AIG warranty results in stall tactics, as they cannot find the part to fix the issue.Shop around The warranty has a buyout after 45 days but was informed today (2/10/2021) it is at their discretion. Pretty poor NO SERVICE. Shop around and read reviews concerning AIG slow or no response, I wish I had.

I purchased an extended warranty on my dryer for a year for $80 after the regular extended warranty was just about to end. They took my money and sold me the policy. And then when the dryer stopped working, and I called them, they refused to send out anyone. They said they won't pay out more than what they say the machine is worth. Instead, they offered to pay me $190, which is my original $80 I paid two months ago, plus a measly $110. Nowhere did they tell me this as I bought it. So in essence, I paid $80, just to have insurance of $110. And now I have to go get it fixed myself. This is an outright scam. They have the gall to sell a policy that they have no plans to even send out a repairman for, but instead, just pay me off and end the coverage. They are using fine print in to get out of paying. Scam is too calm of a word to call this! In addition, they were johnny of the spot when they sold this to me, but trying to get to customer service takes over 20 minutes just getting someone on the phone.

Non payment of insurance and being ignored by this company

My father passed away and had a life insurance policy with AIG. The company paid the face value of the policy. However there were substantial paid up additions that they won't release. My father repeatedly stayed that he rolled over dividends to buy paid up additions and that amount would be added to the police's face value. Customer service says that the beneficiaries are not entitled to it but can tell me why. They told me to submit a request for an inquiry which I did. I called customer service a few weeks later to find out the disposition and was told they basically ignored the request because the policy was "paid". This is a disgusting company that everyone should avoid like the plague

American International Group - Don't buy AIG travel insurance

We are living in Maryland. Bought 4 flight tickets last April to celebrate father-in-law's 70th birthday in October in Vietnam. The flight schedule is from DC to Vietnam via Hong Kong. However, as you know well from the main news stream, Hong Kong's situation was getting worse and worse. Finally, the airport was occupied by demonstrators and surrounded by violent Chinese police and militia. Therefore, we quitted the tickets with fully reasonable reason. I didn't want to hurt my family in foreign country. However, AIG finally denied to pay the our claim fully. AIG said there was no terrorist incident in Hong Kong. The situation was worse than the terrorist incident ! I think AIG applied the standard too conservative to advantage of this issue.

I had a three year contract for our kitchenaid refrigerator. It failed in the first year. They claimed parts were not available and offered me a buyout, which after deducting the 2 remaining years of the contract gave me $32.20 for the refrigerator and couldn't understand why I was so upset. American General Life Insurance Nashville,Tn 37250-**** I received another letter for $360.09 they been doing this extortion since 2017. I will not let them take there payment out of my bank account. They lower her insurance face valve from 25,000.00 to 3,700 and I am still paying 22.56 for my daughter life insurance. There is no telling how many people they is doing this too. I already sent them $120.00 in November 2018. Every month they send a different extortion payment.

I purchase travel insurance for my employees when I get airline tickets... I have never had to use it until now. TRAVEL INSURANCE IS USELESS!!!

The Travel Guard website is so complicated to use and sign up for, of course this is to discourage people from making claims, and once you get an account the website is down, of course for maintenance.. And they will disqualify your claim for any reason..Then they want so much documentation to your claim... DON'T BOTHER BUYING TRAVEL INSURANCE, YOU WON'T GET YOUR MONEY BACK FOR YOUR TICKETS AND YOU WILL BE OUT THE MONEY FOR THE POLICY AS WELL!!!!!!

And shame on United Airlines, when you cancel the ticket it tells you that flight insurance was purchased, but it wont tell you through who, or where to find your policy. They make it so difficult to find the insurance that you purchased through them.

The bottom line on Travel Guard, You can't get your money back UNLESS SOMEONE DIES, AND ODDS ARE THEY WONT,,, it is worthless..Shame on the airlines for selling this garbage to their customers.

The citation with American General Life Insurance have not been resolve they want $280.00 to restore the face value back to 25,000.00. They have no problem with extortion.

I am doing an update on AIG they have not change anything about my daughter Tiffany Finley insurance in 2010 I took out 25,000.00 whole life insurance since I stop doing automatic payment they reduced it to 3,700.00. You no that will not bury anybody.

AIG phone number is 1-80*-280-****, they want me to pay them 160.00 to reinstated it. I guess everybody can get away with extortion. I am not paying them that. I no it is time for me to hire an attorney.

Do you no one?American General Life Insurance address is PO Box 305355 Nashville, TN 37230-****. Before you get life insurance do reviews. Pissed Consumers come off this 100 words please. I have to figure what else to say about this dam company.

I wish those two agency never came to my house and ask me do I have life insurance. If I never met them I would of not took out this policy.

In 2010 I took out 25,000,00 life Insurance everything was fine until I change banks. When I change banks they no-longer could take the money out of my account. When they discover I was letting my bank send the payment to them, they lower my daughter insurance from 25,000.00 to 3,700. I am still paying 22.56 a month. I tried everything to get them to restore her face amount back to 25,000.00, but they want me to pay them 161.91 they is what they want me to give them. People if you do not have life insurance do not apply with American General. I am glade I do not have insurance with them I am with Reliable Life Insurance and Physicians Mutual. I believe I am going to have to get an attorney to restore the face amount back to 25,000,00. That is not all they have done to her policy. I am still paying 22.56 they post it is paid up for 2017 when I am still paying for 2018. I file a complaint with Texas insurance but I have not receive information from them about this citation. That was in June 2018. The agency that wrote this policy in 2010 call me and ask me how I am doing and I told him what American General is doing to me he just could not believe they would do that. When I posted it on face book another woman said they did her the same way. she put two of her grandchildren in it.

Frontier offer you on their website the AIG travel guard, and on the marketing (as you can see the photo) they make you think that you are buying a insurance that will cover you with you need. But when you actually need, Frontier says that doesn't has any ties with AIG, and when you call AIG, they says that the insurance doesn't cover anything, just illness and death, basically.

So I questioned them why they do not let this information CLEAR on the website, so the people who are buying it doesn't think that are buying something that actually it's not. AIG said that they didn't had anything with the Frontier sales, that it was all Frontier responsibility, onde it was Frontier that was selling. It's a fraud! A SCAM!!

They are stealing $11 - $12 from each person who accepts this insurance offer, who doesn't cover anything, and they trick you. It's a shame a company big like Frontier participating in a scam like this.

On Jan. 3 at approx. 3:45 pm I purchased a round trip ticket to visit a friend to Fayetteville, N.C. through Travelocity.com on American Airlines to fly out the next day (Jan. 4) at 3:30 pm. I talked to my friend shortly before purchasing the ticket and she said she was feeling a little sluggish but that I should come and visit for a week. I also purchased flight cancellation insurance which American Airlines offered through Expediapolicies@***.com for $28.00 called a Travel guard policy which they made it sound like in the case of cancellation your fees were covered. By 8:00 am the morning of the 4th my friend called me and told me that her and her son had come down with the flu and didn't think it was a good idea to come and asked if it was to late to cancel my flight. I told her it was not a problem because I purchased the cancellation insurance.I cancelled the flight and filed a claim with Expediapolicies after talking to American Airlines. They claimed that because there was no Dr. report they didn't have to honer the policy. I was pissed and talked to American Airlines and they stated that I had 1 year to use the credit from the canceled flight of $397.50. I figured that would be fine because I was flying to Texas to visit my parents on Feb 5. I called to book the flight for $400+ and told them I wanted to use my credit towards the flight. They came back and stated that the credit couldn't be used on an economy flight but that I could used it on a flight that cost $900+ . What a SCAM all the way around.
